What you are looking at
The house has beige lap siding, a long run of windows across the back and a concrete patio with chairs. The new shingles are a brown blend with tan and gray tones.
The roof close-up looks down a valley where two roof planes meet. It is lined with dark metal, and a gutter runs along the lower edge.
This is a newer neighborhood with similar single-story homes, curving streets and young trees. The photos were taken in early spring, before the leaves came out.
The side photo shows the long, plain wall of the house under the new roof line running the length of it.
One back corner of the house has a wall of tall windows, and the roof over it ties into the main roof with valleys. On a single-story home like this, very little of the roof shows from the ground, so the close-up from the roof says more than the yard photos.
What sits under the Peppercorn granules is SureNail, a woven reinforcing strip in the nailing zone that helps Duration hold in winds up to 130 mph, and the shingle carries a UL 2218 Class 3 impact rating. That matters in Waite Park twice a year: in summer storms, and again when snow drifts and melts along the eaves. The Essential PLUS package added Owens Corning ProArmor underlayment, Starter Strip Plus, ProEdge hip and ridge and a VentSure ridge vent, and the estimate lists a System Protection warranty. That system warranty needs Owens Corning hip and ridge plus two more of its components, and a vented ridge keeps the attic cold so ice dams have less to work with.
