What you are looking at
The house pairs reddish brown vertical siding on the upper level with tan siding on the lower level, plus cream trim. A storage wing on one side has a low roof, tan siding and a bright red door.
On the roof, the new shingles are a tan and light brown blend, with brown box vents along the ridge and the ridge capped in matching shingles. The roof photo looks out over the neighborhood and a red outbuilding beyond the yard.
The detached garage has the same reddish brown vertical siding, a tan overhead door and a tan service door, and a fenced vegetable garden grows along its side wall.
In the back yard there is a raised wood deck, a patio and rock landscaping, and the neighborhood has tall pines and large lots.
The storage wing has a low roof running off the side of the house, and its edge carries a gutter like the rest of the house. The downspouts on the main house are dark, close to the color of the upper siding.
Under the Peppercorn color, Duration is built around Owens Corning's SureNail strip, a woven fabric band in the nailing zone that gives each nail more to hold, and Owens Corning rates it for winds up to 130 mph and UL 2218 Class 3 impact. On a Sauk Rapids roof, a shingle that stays nailed flat in summer wind is also one that keeps drifting snow and meltwater from getting under the edges.
