What you are looking at
The roof has two gable dormers on the front, tall hips and valleys on the river side, and a chimney near the center. The valleys are lined with brown metal, and the box vents on the ridges are a matching rust brown.
The shingles are a warm brown blend with tan and rose tones. On the steep slopes, the shadow lines of the dimensional shingles show clearly in the photos.
Several roof photos face the river: a wide stretch of water, a wooded far bank and a lawn running down to the shore. Tall pines stand between the house and its neighbors.
With this many hips and valleys, most of the work on a roof like this goes into the transitions. The hip photo shows the ridge caps running down the hip and meeting the valley metal below it.
The dormer photo shows the shingles running up both sides of each dormer, with the taupe stucco gable of the house below. Box vents on this roof sit near the peaks, where hot attic air collects.
Duration FLEX in Teak is made with SBS rubberized asphalt, so it stays more flexible than a standard shingle in cold weather, and it carries UL 2218 Class 4, the highest impact rating there is. That combination fits Sartell, where hail comes in summer and deep cold sets in for winter.
