What you are looking at
The crew photos from earlier in the season show the house in pale cream siding. In this finished set, the walls are a gray lap with a light wood grain texture, the garage gable switches to vertical board and batten, and the brick wainscot and entry piers are the only warm color left on the front.
Two bump-out windows on the front sit between brick sections. The close-ups show the new siding wrapped around each one with gray corner trim, a flat run of siding under the window and the gutter running across the top.
The rooftop photo looks across a hip where the main roof meets a wing. Gray valley metal runs along both sides of the hip, and box vents sit on the slopes. The shingle is a gray blend with tan and brown granules.
The back of the house has a room addition on posts and an L-shaped wing, all re-sided to match, with downspouts turning out onto rock beds along the foundation.
The setting is open farmland, with harvested fields on every side, a row of spruce trees as a windbreak and a cloudy fall sky.
The front entry sits between brick piers with a wood door and a short stoop, and the two dark brown garage doors stand out against the new gray walls.
Every Williamsburg Gray Duration shingle carries Owens Corning's SureNail strip, a band of woven fabric right where the nails go, and a 130 mph wind resistance limited warranty. On a Cold Spring roof, a shingle that stays nailed flat in summer wind is also one that keeps drifting snow and meltwater from getting under the edges.
