What you are looking at
The contrast is the point: white stucco walls, white vented soffit, and a black fascia and gutter line running the full length of the house, with black downspouts at the corners.
The roof edge close-ups show the new shingles running over the edge into the gutter, with hangers spaced along the inside of the gutter run. At one corner, two gutter runs meet at a mitered joint above the patio.
Rotten roof decking was replaced before the new shingles went on, a permit was pulled for the job, and the door trim was wrapped in metal.
The home sits on a large, flat lot with a red brick patio, a black chain-link fence and a big shade tree beside the house.
A long row of windows sits right under the eave on the side wall, so the new gutter line is the first thing you see above them. The back yard photo shows the full length of the house with the patio set up beside it.
Every Onyx Black Duration shingle carries Owens Corning's SureNail strip, a band of woven fabric right where the nails go, and a 130 mph wind resistance limited warranty. A loose tab is where meltwater gets in, and a St. Cloud winter brings plenty of meltwater to find it.
