What you are looking at
The siding is steel in a gray-green lap profile with white trim, and it now covers the house, the garage and the front gables. The ground-level photos show it running along the side and back walls above rock landscaping beds.
On the roof, the gray blend shingles carry a few warm brown flecks. The roof has several intersecting sections, and the photos show black box vents lined up along each ridge and capped ridges where the sections meet.
One close-up shows a galvanized flue pipe coming through the shingles on a metal flashing base with a storm collar above it. Pipes like this vent gas appliances, so the flashing has to seal tight around a pipe that gets hot.
This is a newer Sartell subdivision with wide lawns and young trees, and the roof photos look out over a curving street and the neighboring homes.
A covered front porch sits between the garage and the main house, and the attached garage has two overhead doors under its own gable.
Under the Williamsburg Gray color, Duration is built around Owens Corning's SureNail strip, a woven fabric band in the nailing zone that gives each nail more to hold, and Owens Corning rates it for winds up to 130 mph and UL 2218 Class 3 impact. On a Sartell roof, a shingle that stays nailed flat in summer wind is also one that keeps drifting snow and meltwater from getting under the edges.
