What you are looking at
The new shingles are a charcoal gray that sits well against the gray siding. The front of the house is a true hip roof, so every edge of it is an eave, and the drone shot from above shows the hips and ridge capped in the same color all the way around the garage section.
The close drone frame shows what sits on the roof surface: two low-profile box vents for attic exhaust and a plumbing vent pipe sealed with a new pipe boot. Penetrations like these are where older roofs usually start to leak, so they are worth a look in any set of finished photos.
Out back, the walkout side shows how much roof this house carries over two stories: a bay window bump-out, a raised deck with white railings and stairs, and a long eave line above the lower-level windows. The garage wall is finished in gray shake-style siding that matches the house color, with white soffit above the overhead doors.
Mature hardwoods shade the lot on every side, and the photos were taken on a clear summer day with the leaves fully out.
Under the Onyx Black color, Duration is built around Owens Corning's SureNail strip, a woven fabric band in the nailing zone that gives each nail more to hold, and Owens Corning rates it for winds up to 130 mph and UL 2218 Class 3 impact. On an Alexandria roof, a shingle that stays nailed flat in summer wind is also one that keeps drifting snow and meltwater from getting under the edges.
